CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES.

Applicants must be 18 years of age by the time applications open on November 1st.Applicants must make sure that their content links are accessible to the moderators. You can check by pasting the link in an incognito browser. The moderators are not responsible for contacting applicants about links that don’t work.All submissions must be the applicants’ own work. If it is found that you have copied/stolen someone else's work, you will be immediately disqualified. Passing off ai generated work with no modifications as your own is not allowed. Writers, please list all tags/trigger warnings at the top of your samples. Previous zine experience is not required.All mods for this project are profiction, and no one will be disqualified based on what kind of content they create outside the zine. However, if we discover that contributors are currently engaged in serious anti rhetoric, racism/white supremacy, ableism, homophobia, transphobia or harassment of others outside the zine they will not be accepted.If accepted, writers will be required to make a fic between 2k-3k words. Artists will be required to create one finished piece (fully colored, unless intentionally monochrome, fully shaded) with at least a simple background. Merch artists will be required to make at least one fully finished wallpaper, 4 icons, or 5 discord emojis depending on which merch they applied for. There is also an option to make physical merch, too.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES.

Below you will find everything you need to know about applying to be a creator for Frozen Embers! You can find more information in our FAQ document.


Artists:


Google drive links are preferred. In order to have a complete artist application for Frozen Embers, you must have the following:- Three(3) samples of your artwork, each a finished piece in at least full flat color. No sketches or WIPS.In said samples:- At least one sample should have a fully illustrated background. It does not need to be incredibly detailed, but it should be more than just a solid color.- Shoto or Dabi must be featured at least once. They may be, but do not have to be, in the same piece.- At least one piece must be NSFW, as this is a NSFW zine. All NSFW works must be properly tagged and listed as NSFW on the application.- DabiSho pieces are suggested, but not mandatory. (Sketches in your portfolio are welcome)- If you like, you may submit a portfolio. This is optional, and whether or not you submit a portfolio will have no bearing on whether you are accepted.


Merch Artists:


Google drive links are preferred. In order to have a complete merch artist application for the Frozen Embers Zine, you must have the following:- Three(3) samples of your artwork, each a finished piece in at least full flat color. No sketches or WIPS.In said samples:- At least one sample should be a merch mockup. Merch similar to what you are applying to make is preferred, but not required. (There are free sites to turn merch designs to mockups)- Shoto or Dabi must be featured at least once. They may be, but do not have to be, in the same piece.- Dabisho pieces are suggested, but not mandatory.- If you like, you may submit a portfolio. This is optional, and whether or not you submit a portfolio will have no bearing on whether you are accepted.


Writers:


Google docs are preferred. Please list any and all relevant tags/trigger warnings at the top of your document samples. Also please make sure your name is not anywhere in the document, including the file name, because judging of samples will be blind (meaning we are looking at skill alone, rather than who you are). Previous zine experience is not required. Contributors will be chosen based on skill, taking into account the following:
- Grammar
- Spelling
- Punctuation
- Flow
- Characterization
- Creativity
- Ability to complete a story in short formRequirements for samples:- Writers must submit a total of two(2) pieces. These are the pieces that will be assessed by the moderators so please choose pieces that best represent your style.
In said pieces:
- Both pieces must be between 1500 and 3000 words, with a 100 word leeway on each side.
- As this is a NSFW zine, at least one of these pieces must be NSFW.
- Pieces featuring DabiSho are encouraged but not required.
- At least one of these pieces must be a complete fic, and the other one can be either a complete fic, or an excerpt from a longer fic, as long as the excerpt is within the word count. If you choose to submit an excerpt, please link the original fic.
- Twitter threads will not be accepted as submissions, please reformat to a Google Doc or similar to be accepted.
- If you like, you may submit a portfolio in the form of a shared google drive folder or a link to an AO3 account. This is optional and whether or not you submit a portfolio will have no bearing on whether you are accepted.
